Performing in competitions

After all the intense preparation, communication, and consistent training, Chishimba finally stepped onto court for his first tournament. This is a big moment for the program because it shows what the work has been building toward. At the same time, it is only the beginning of Chishimba’s proper squash career, and the first of many dreams we hope this program will help unlock.

Chichi competed in his age group at the Nkana Squash Open 2025 which ran from the 28th to the 30th of November. The Nkana open is a major tournament in Kitwe that pulls in squash talent from across Zambia and the sub-saharan region as whole. While he wasn’t able to get onto the podium, he sure did, “give ‘em hell!” His breakout appearance was just one of the first stepping stones of many to come for him and hopefully many others in the near future!
